FAQS

DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT?

Yes, appointments keep our days realistic. If everyone came in without one, we would not be able to service everyone equally. Same day service is sometimes available but please do not count on it. For optimum service, please plan 7 to 10 working days in advance.

DO YOU SEDATE, TRANQUILIZE OR OTHERWISE DRUG MY PET?

No, No, No These items are to be dispensed only by your veterinarian.   If your pet is in need of sedation your veterinarian would be more then happy to prescribe the proper drug and dose if deemed necessary.

CAN GROOMING BE DANGEROUS TO MY PET?

Please always remember we are working with living beings, that move wriggle and wiggle. While we do EVERYTHING possible to prevent any type of accident or injury, there can be a rare occasion when a pet moves suddenly, injuring itself. All precautions are taken when your pet is with us. We have created an extremely safe environment. All pets are within eyes view of us at all times. Which is why we have an open concept salon, with no barriers between your pets and our groomers.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

Some pets take longer then others. Most groomings take approximately 3 to 4 hours. That may seem like a long time, but if you take the time it takes you to shower, shave, do your make up, dry and style your hair etc, and add it up over a month, were pretty quick. Four to six weeks of grooming in approximately 4 hours is not bad at all. However, if it has been more then 2 months since your pets last grooming, please expect it to take longer. Plan on leaving your pet with us. We prefer to call you when we are finished, but pick up times can be arranged in advance if necessary. This allows us time to adjust to unpopular attitudes (Your Pet’s) as well as providing a casual approach that will assure a quality grooming.

WHY IS MY PET’S GROOMING TAKING LONGER THEN EXPECTED OR PROMISED?

Sometimes the unexpected can occur. A fur coat that is more tangled then we originally thought, or a pet needs a little more TLC to get through the grooming process safely and happily. An over abundance of phone calls, or drop by clients. ( Remember if we agree to call you when your pet is finished, We promise we will call promptly!!) All of these things & more can cause your pet’s grooming session to take longer. Please be patient with us, we always do our very best to accommodate our clients and especially their pets.

WHY DOES MY PET ACT HYPER OR TIRED WHEN I PICK HIM UP?

A trip to the groomer is a social event for your pet. While at the shop they meet 8 to 15 new friends each with something to contribute to the days exciting conversation. Some pets are over stimulated by the new experience and can not wait to tell their owners. Other pets who are used to sleeping all day, think grooming as rude interruption  to their usual nap time and can not wait to get home to catch up on their sleep. Don’t forget also that your pet has worked very hard to be beautiful, standing either in a tub or on the table for an extended amount of time. Even you would be excited about a ride home to your bed for a little rest.
